My name is John Crosse. I am a retired environmental engineer with a passion for researching and collecting material related to the architectural history of Southern California. The purpose of this blog is to share my findings with the outside world and hopefully create a network of like-minded individuals to learn more from. I welcome any and all feedback regarding my posts and look forward to seeing where this adventure might lead. I can be reached at jocrosse@ca.rr.com

Hey John, this is beautiful, very impressive and inspiring at the same time. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Mike. I’m having a lot of fun with it and meeting many interesting people.
I have been having a lovely time going through your extraordinary blog! What a fantastic in-depth catalogue of a branch of architectural history which has had such a profound influence on the development of architectural style.
Discovered your blog while hunting background history on free form swimming pools. I didn’t find that, but I did find a treasure!
Greetings from an interior designer on the other side of the world – in Melbourne, Australia – where we are also pretty obsessed with architecture.
Thanks Virginia.Your site is also very fascinating. You may be interested to know that Neutra commissioned Isamu Noguchi to design the first ever organic shaped swimming pool for the Josef von Sternberg House I noticed on your site which unfortunately went unbuilt. You can see Noguchi’s model at my companion piece “Richard Neutra and the California Art Club: Pathways to the Von Sternberg and Murphy Commissions.”
